School starts soon in Riverbank, and with that, fall sports practices are underway at the high school. The RHS Athletic Department has also released schedules for the upcoming sports seasons.
Riverbank football teams began conditioning sessions this past week and are continuing. Other sports were to begin on Monday, July 30 including Girls Golf, Cross Country and Girls Volleyball.
Classes will start on Aug. 8 for the 2018-19 school year.
The football schedule shows games starting on Aug. 18, with the Bruins traveling to Oakland, then to Clarksburg to take on Delta High School on Aug. 24. They won’t be playing a home game for a month, hosting Waterford on Aug. 31.
Lady Bruin Volleyball
Girls volleyball tryouts were to begin on Monday afternoon, and their first match will be the Foundation Game, hosting Johansen High School from Modesto on Monday, Aug. 20. There’ll be two non-league contests, at Argonaut High School in Jackson, then at Downey High in Modesto, before returning for another pre-season match at home, with Gustine High coming to play.
The Lady Bruins will play their last home match against Livingston High School on Oct. 10, with the season finale on Oct. 15 in Hilmar
Lady linksters have begun practice, with their first golf match scheduled on the road against Ripon Christian High School, on Monday, Aug. 20. The next day, the 21st, they’ll visit Hilmar.
Their first home match will be held on Thursday, Aug. 23, hosting Livingston at the Escalon Golf Course. Their last home match will be on Oct. 9, with tournament play continuing through Oct. 30.
Both boy and girl runners are set to begin their season on the road at Lodi Lake for the Lodi Invitational on Friday, Aug. 24. Their season continues through Oct. 25 with the TVL League Championship Meet, followed by the Sub-Section Meet in Angels Camp, and the Section Meet at Folsom High School in Sacramento.
