Despite their best scores to date, Bruin golfers lost their final matches against Hughson and Ripon Christian.

"It was frustrating because the girls had our best scores this year," said Riverbank coach John Bartlett.

Riverbank scored 177 to lose to Hughson by five strokes, and posted 180 against Ripon Christian to fail by eight strokes.

"We're losing close ones. I'm happy with the way the girls are playing," said Bartlett.

Lead golfer Laura Coker had been sick, but came back for the final two matches to lose to her opponent on both occasions by only one or two strokes.

Against RC, Karina Vizcaino posted a 43; Coker, 45; Katie Gettling, 45; and Jaimie Davidson, 47.

On Thursday, Ashlyn Reed was out of action with a sprained wrist.

"This is the best team I've had in some years. But there's not a week they've all stayed healthy," said Bartlett.

Having reaching the end of their dual match season, Riverbank High golfers were slated to play in the League Meet on Monday.

With a 3-9 record, Riverbank is tied by two other teams for last place in the league. But Coker stands a chance of advancing as an individual to the finals.
