Recovering from a week where they played six games, the Bruin booters tried only one match, and lost that one by 8-0 to Hughson on Wednesday, March 16.

For an experiment, the RHS girls started play at 6 p.m. under the lights of their home football stadium.

"Erika Fernandez did a good job in goal and made seven or eight saves," said Bruin coach Roger Nelson. "Then Karina Montoya took over for the second half and also made seven or eight saves."

Taking command of the game early on, Hughson scored five of its goals in the first half.

"We got in six or eight shots at their goal. Two of them were off target and their goalie got her hands to the rest," said Nelson.

This week, the Bruns are scheduled to go on the road and play Escalon on Tuesday, and Livingston on Thursday. They will rest during the Easter vacation and take the field again on April 5 in a home game against Ripon Christian.
