Riverbank swimmers aid Gators

Riverbank youth competing for the Oakdale Swim Team helped the Gators take second place behind Manteca but ahead of Hughson in a tri-meet at Manteca on Saturday.

Team scores were Manteca, 754; Oakdale, 673; and Hughson, 556.

Christian Britton, competing in the boys 6-years-and-under age group, swam the third leg of the 100 medley, which was won by Oakdale in 1:54.36.

In individual competition, Christian Britton won the boys 50 freestyle in 44.83. He also placed fourth in the 25 breaststroke in 31.26.

His sister, Katelin Britton, swam second in the girls 7-8 100 medley, in which Oakdale scored a sixth place in 1:54.76.

Britton also won a ninth place in the girls 25 yard breaststroke in 29.31, and placed second in the 25 freestyle in 18.28.

In the girls 25 yard freestyle for 6 and under, Alicia Gonzales placed seventh in 30.06.

Aspen Coons, in the girls 9-11 age group, helped Oakdale place second in the girls 200 medley in 2:41.20.

In individual races, Coons placed seventh in the 100 freestyle, in a time of 1:21.80; seventh in the 50 butterfly, in 43.25; and fifth in the backstroke, in 45.85.

Caleb Gonzales, in the boys 9-10 year age group, placed 12th in the boys 50 breaststroke, in 57.49.

He also swam the boys freestyle, placing placed 25th in 56.27.

Vic tor Rojas, also in the 9-10 year group, and in the same race, placed 16th, in 1:05.65. Rojas also won a eighth place in the 100 individual medley, in 2:40.98.
