Riverbank’s youth football teams spent Saturday morning finishing up paperwork, paying fees and receiving equipment for the upcoming season.
The four Outlaws teams, Junior Novice, Novice, Junior Varsity and Varsity, took care of business through the morning and in to the early afternoon hours on June 21, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Parents helped with the paperwork, then their players worked through stacks and stacks of equipment, trying on pads, then uniforms, looking for what they will be using for the upcoming fall football season.
Since last year, the group has had a name change, as well as a reorganization of its alliance. Previously called the Central Valley Outlaws, the teams both practiced and played their games in Modesto.
Now, they’re known as the Riverbank Outlaws, practicing and play games at Riverbank High. They’ve also aligned themselves with RHS football, acting as a “feeder” program for the Bruin program.
The Outlaws fall season schedule is also available on their website, with cheer camp coming up in the middle of July, and the preseason Jamboree set for Aug. 9. Games will continue on Saturdays, through Oct. 25 before the playoffs start.
