Football Scrimmage

Slated

Riverbank High's varsity football team, now under the direction of coach James Oliver, will host a 6 p.m. scrimmage against Franklin of Stockton on Saturday, Aug. 20. The contact scrimmage will be the Bruins' first serious look at competition in the Sac-Joaquin Section.

Register For Trojans Now

The Riverbank Trojans youth football and cheer program is now accepting registration for football players and cheerleaders for the upcoming season. Participants ages five to 15 (as of Aug. 1) are welcome to join. The program provides a full season of activity for $250 (football players) and $200 (cheerleaders), and participants will keep his or her uniform at the end of the season. Payment plans and fundraising options are available, but $100 is due at registration.

Youth Basketball

California Youth Basketball League is currently registering teams for the fall 2011 season.

Games begin Aug. 27 and run through Nov. 5. Open to boys and girls ages four through 18, with both individual and team registration accepted. For more information, call 916-391-3900 or go online to cybhoops.com.

Benefit Golf Tournament

El Concilio is hosting its 2011 Charity Golf Tournament and all proceeds will benefit El Concilio's Community Enrichment Programs.

The Reserve at Spanos Park will be the scene for the tournament, set for Friday, Aug. 19 with an 8 a.m. start for the scramble format tournament.

The registration package includes: tournament play, golf cart, tee prizes, beverages and snacks at select holes, raffle prizes, There will also be a Continental breakfast, lunch on the links, and an early banquet buffet awards dinner.

Donation is $125 per player and checks should be made payable to El Concilio, 224 S. Sutter St, Stockton, CA 95202.
