Girls Fastpitch Tryouts
California Magic Gold based out of Escalon will be holding its 2011 Fall tryouts for both the 12U and 14U teams coming up in August.
On Saturday, Aug. 13, pitchers and catchers are asked to report at 5 p.m. and all other players at 6 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 14 pitchers and catchers report at 9 a.m. and all others at 10 a.m.
All positions are open on these highly competitive squads.
Tryouts will be hosted at the Escalon High School varsity softball field. Coaches have no daughters on the team but have over 20 years of experience coaching girls Fastpitch softball from 12U through 18U.

Soccer Tournament
Modesto Junior College will host a men's Modesto 6 on 6 Soccer Tournament on Saturday and Sunday, July 30 and 31 at the MJC West Campus Soccer Field on Blue Gum Avenue.
The team registration fee for the two-day, open tournament is $300. The final registration deadline is Wednesday, July 27.
The minimum age for participation is 18 during the current calendar year and participants are guaranteed three games.

Youth Basketball
California Youth Basketball League is currently registering teams for the fall 2011 season. Games begin Aug. 27 and run through Nov. 5. Open to boys and girls ages four through 18, with both individual and team registration accepted.
