Summer Hoops Camp Slated

The Oakdale Mustangs basketball program will sponsor a shooting camp for the youth of Oakdale and its surrounding communities in the main gymnasium on the campus of Oakdale High School, July 5 through 7. Girls and boys in kindergarten through sixth grade will attend between the hours of 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., while seventh through 12th grade students will attend between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

In addition to being taught by members of the Mustang basketball program staff, the camp will feature daily instruction by legendary former Sonora High School boys’ basketball coach Rick Francis.

“It will be our second annual basketball camp with Coach Francis specifically,” said Mustang assistant coach Nate Madsen. “He is a storied coach with a lot of success in his past.”

Registration costs are $75 per player for those who preregister on the Internet at http://oakdalebasketball.weebly.com or $100 per player for those who wait to register at the door. Registration includes three days of camp with special shooting instruction from Coach Francis, a ‘Stangs basketball shirt, and a chance to win prizes.
