Riverbank High athletes saw Trans-Valley League action across the sports spectrum this past week.

Lady Bruin Volleyball

Girls volleyball players saw two matches last week, one at home, one on the road.

On Tuesday, Oct. 5, the Lady Huskies of Hughson came to town, leaving with a three-game sweep, 25-9, 25-10 and 25-20. As can be seen, Riverbank improved at each stage of the match. On Thursday last week, they traveled to Escalon, facing the Lady Cougars in TVL action, also falling in three. Scores were 25-5, 25-19, 25-1.

Coming up this week, volleyballers were to have their final home match of the season, against Livingston on Tuesday night, after The News went to press. It was the team’s Senior Night. They the Lady Bruins finish up their season on the road, at Hilmar on Thursday, Oct 14.

Bruin Football

Riverbank varsity boys football was on the road last Friday, falling 44-0, at the Hughson Huskies, in Trans-Valley League play. This week, they’ll host the Cougars from Escalon. After that, on Oct. 22, RHS travels to Livingston, to compete with the Wolves.

The Bruins complete their season on Friday, Oct. 29, at home, featuring a Senior Night recognition against Hilmar’s Yellowjackets.

Co-Ed Cross Country

Having run in two invitational races this month, Riverbank’s runners are preparing for the third TVL meet, to be held at Jacob Myers Park on Oct. 27.

Girls Golf

Lady Bruin golfers were to have two home matches this week, first, hosting Gustine on Tuesday, Oct. 12, then welcoming Hilmar on Thursday, Oct. 14. Both matches were scheduled for the Escalon Golf Course.

Riverbank closes out its season with three successive Monday tournaments, all on the road, ending Nov. 1, with the Masters Tournament in Stockton.
