There weren’t too many matches on the schedule for the Riverbank High School teams during the past week, though the varsity boys and girls soccer and boys and girls basketball teams did get in some Mother Lode League contests.

BOYS SOCCER

Coming off their strong 11-0 win over Big Valley Christian in Mother Lode League play, the varsity Bruin soccer boys followed that up with another victory. They took on Calaveras on Jan. 8 and got a 2-1 win, scoring a goal in each half. The varsity team also played a non-league game, Jan. 10, at Venture Academy, coming up short in a 1-0 contest.

GIRLS SOCCER

Two games played and two games went in the books as wins for the varsity soccer girls. They shut out Big Valley Christian by a 5-0 final on Jan. 6. The edged past Calaveras on the road Thursday, Jan. 8, with a 2-1 decision. Against Big Valley, the girls took a 4-0 halftime lead and added one more goal in the second half. BOYS BASKETBALL

Still looking for a Mother Lode League win, the varsity basketball boys fell short on the home court Friday night, as they hosted Calaveras on Jan. 9.
