Winter Break Means No School But RHS Sports Continue

Non-league sports play continues during the Riverbank High School Christmas and New Year holiday break.

 

Bruin Boys Basketball

Boys basketball games were going strong for the Bruins last week, with two away and one on the home court.

The Bruins traveled to Davis High School in Modesto on Tuesday, Dec. 19, coming home with a 51-39 win in non-league play. On Wednesday, they played at Beyer High in Modesto, sliding by with a 58-55 win there.

On Friday, Dec. 22, they played at home, hosting Turlock Christian, with a 77-39 victory.

Riverbank has a couple of road games this week, and after the first of the year, Trans-Valley League play will begin.

 

Lady Bruin Basketball

Girls basketball faced a pair of games against Manteca, first on the road on Saturday, Dec. 16, falling 46-32, to the Lady Buffaloes. On Thursday, Dec. 21, they returned to hand the Manteca team a 54-38 defeat. They’re scheduled to have their first TVL game hosting Hilmar on Jan. 2, and Escalon on Thursday, Jan. 4.

 

Lady Bruin Soccer

Girls soccer fell in a road game this past week, losing 5-0 at Sonora on Thursday, Dec. 21.

They’ll have their first TVL match on Friday, Jan. 5 at home against Escalon.

 

Bruin Soccer

Boys soccer played at Merced on Tuesday, Dec. 19, falling to host Golden Valley, 4-0. They also suffered a shutout loss at Sonora, 6-0, on Thursday, Dec. 21. They’ll play at Escalon on Jan. 5 to start out their TVL season.
