Riverbank High student athletes who’ve been chomping at the bit to get winter sports underway were unleashed this past week.
Girls basketball and soccer were the first to see action for the 2021-22 season, both on Friday, Nov. 12.
Lady Bruin Basketball
Riverbank’s varsity girls basketball season got underway with a scrimmage hosted at the Ray Fauria Memorial Gymnasium. The Lady Falcons of Millennium High School in Tracy came by, playing two 20-minute periods.
The RHS squad came out on top, with a final, unofficial score, of 60-32. The Lady Bruins were in double digits in the first frame before Millennium got on the board.
Everybody was having a good time, so they continued with another 10-minute session, ending with 66-41 on the scoreboard.
Girls basketball will be on the road with scrimmages and tournament play until their next home game, on Tuesday, Dec. 14, when they host Central Valley.
RHS Girls Soccer
Lady Bruin soccer was on the road for its first scrimmage Friday, traveling to Modesto to take on Gregori High’s Jaguars. No score was reported.
