‘Tis the season, so to speak, where the winter sports schedule gets revved up and Riverbank High athletes get to take part in some preseason games. This is the season that brings both boys and girls basketball as well as boys and girls soccer, plus wrestling.
Here is a look at some of the upcoming action.
Bruin Soccer

The varsity game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. They’ll scrimmage at Oakdale on Tuesday, Nov. 18. Their Mother Lode League season starts on Tuesday, Jan. 6, hosting Big Valley Christian from Modesto.

Riverbank boys have hit the courts in practice sessions, with their first non-league games starting on Friday, Nov. 21, hosting Enochs High School from Modesto. There are lots of preseason contests coming up, including a number of tournaments to attend, but the Mother Lode League season doesn’t start until the first week of January, well after the holidays.

The Riverbank girls will be playing a similar schedule to the boys, with preseason games and tournaments starting on Saturday, Nov. 22, on the road. They won’t be playing at home until Dec. 1, when they are scheduled to host Davis High School from Modesto. Their first league game will be on Friday, Jan. 9, hosting Calaveras.
