The brief lull in the local high school sports calendar is scheduled to come to an end this weekend, with a six-way varsity basketball scrimmage set for Saturday, Nov. 10 in the Ray Fauria Memorial Gymnasium. Play is set to begin at 10 a.m.

Then, the next week will bring a series of scrimmages, on Tuesday and Friday, followed by the Foundation Game, at home against Johansen High School of Modesto at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 19. The Lady Bruins version of that contest begins at 6 p.m.

The girls won’t be playing at home again until Thursday, Dec. 30, hosting Escalon in Trans-Valley League action.

For soccer, the boys teams travel to Elk Grove this Friday, Nov. 9 to scrimmage against Franklin High School, but the girls teams don’t get to scrimmage until next Wednesday, Nov. 14, when they travel to Oakdale.

The girls will scrimmage at home on Friday, Nov. 16, when Downey High comes to town, but the boys will be busy at home on Nov. 14 hosting Oakdale and on Nov. 16 against Argonaut in preseason contests.
