The end of the season for winter sports in the Trans-Valley League is looming on the horizon, with some Riverbank High senior athletes facing their final home games in the campaign either last week or this one. The occasions are met, team by team, with recognitions, officially called Senior Nights, organized primarily by the Bruins Booster group.

Athletes are introduced, individually, to the crowd, along with their family. Usually, potential plans each student reports are announced as well, including any college options and possible career path.

Bruin Boys Basketball

The varsity boys had two games last week, on the road to Ripon High, on Tuesday, Feb. 4, falling 59-42, and Senior Night on Thursday, Feb. 6. They hosted the Huskies of Hughson, going down 59-54 to the visitors.

They were to finish their season this week, on the road, at Ripon Christian today and hosting Homecoming on Friday, Feb. 14.

To avoid having the Senior Night recognition and Homecoming both during Riverbank’s last home game of the season, on Valentine’s Day, they moved up the Senior Night festivities.

Feb. 14 is the end of the season, and a celebration of Homecoming with crowning of new Bruin royalty during the evening.

Varsity boys soccer held its Senior Night at its last home match on Feb. 4, clawing and scratching to a 0-0 tie against the visiting Indians of Ripon High School. They were scheduled to close out their TVL schedule on the road at Hilmar on Tuesday, Feb.11.
