The fourth annual Mother Lode, Bob Mernickle Challenge World Championship Fast Draw Contest will be held at the Mother Lode Gun Club, April 24 and 25. The contest will start approximately 10 a.m. both days, and spectators are admitted free. There will be many current and past World Champions competing in the two-day contest. There have been several new world records set at the past three events and organizers expect more records will be broken at this contest.
Local Fast Draw competitor, 14-year-old Colby Qualls, will not only be competing both days but he is also one of the hosts that organize and run the competition. Colby has been shooting Fast Draw for about seven years and was the Overall Junior winner for 2009.
Beginning this year he will compete in the adult division against several World Champions.
