BellaLise School of Dance studio will be performing a dance recital at Oakdale High School on Saturday, June 18 at 5:30 p.m. for their second annual performance since opening in Riverbank two years ago. The dance recital is based on movie themes like Star Wars, Happy Feet, Footloose, Ghostbusters, and Grease.

“All the dances will have theme songs from those movies and then the dances take on a little characteristic of that movie,” stated Amy Gallegos, owner of BellaLise. “Anybody that is interested in putting their child in dance it is a great exposure of our studio so that they can see what we teach the kids. It (recital) is entertaining and fun.”

The Riverbank studio has only been open for a few years; however, Gallegos is no stranger to the Riverbank community where she has partnered with the City of Riverbank’s Parks and Recreation Department to bring dance opportunities to the community. She has students enrolled from Riverbank, Modesto, Escalon, and Oakdale.

Dancers from the Riverbank studio performed at the Oakdale Chocolate Festival last month and have hopes of performing at the Cheese and Wine Exposition in Riverbank this fall.

Gallegos has been teaching students since 2008 and opened her first studio in Linden in 2010 and now offers students in the area two studio locations.

With an extensive background in dance including dancing for the Cleveland Ballet in San Jose and schools on the East Coast, Gallegos has performed in several numbers herself in the past years.
