Farmington Fire Department is planning its annual Pancake Breakfast, set for Sunday, May 15 from 7 a.m. to noon at the Farmington Fire Department, corner of Escalon-Bellota Road and Highway 4. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children for all you can eat pancakes. There will also be prize drawings and fun for all, with all proceeds benefitting the Farmington Fire Department Volunteer Equipment and Scholarships funds.

Columbia State Historic Park will present “Diggins Tent Town 1852” – its annual living history event from Thursday, May 19 through Sunday, May 22. Sponsored by Friends of Columbia and Columbia State Historic Park and depicted by over 150 costumed volunteers, visitors can experience the events and environment of an 1850’s mining camp that is re-created in detail from the clothing, food and entertainment. Open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, admission to Columbia “Diggins 1852” is $7 per adult and $2 per child 12 and under. There is no charge for parking and admission to the park. Turlock Sunshine Strummers Ukulele Group will perform Hank Williams songs and other similar favorites during the hour before the Sunday, May 15, 2 p.m. performance of Sierra Repertory’s Hank Williams: Lost Highway. The group of retired teachers, nurses and musicians plays on a regular basis at the Carnegie Arts Center in Turlock and various area nursing homes. Hank Williams is widely regarded as one of the most significant and influential American singers and songwriters of the 20th century, with 11 songs hitting number one Billboard country and western ratings, and 35 singles that made Top 10. Sierra Rep’s Lost Highway features a talented cast of live singers and musicians with 20-plus favorite Hank Williams songs. The show runs through May 15 with performances Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m.; and 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 12. Riverbank welcomes the REO Speechtrain Toastmasters Club for regular meetings every Wednesday morning, 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., at Perko’s Cafe, Patterson and Oakdale roads, Riverbank. Enjoy the Gold Country Singers in an upcoming spring concert. Under the direction of Annette Hutton of Hutton’s Hamlet in Oakdale, singers will perform Scottish, Irish, and American folk tunes to tap your toes to and old favorites from a Broadway show or two. Plan to join in with the Gold Country Singers on Thursday, May 19 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 21 at 3 p.m. at the Coulterville United Methodist Church on Highway 49 in Coulterville.
