The Riverbank Library is inviting adults and teens to enjoy a free “Throw and Grow Plants” program on Wednesday, May 24 at 3:30 p.m. Participants will learn the joy of wildflowers by tossing seeds into moist soil to see what grows. The “Throw and Grow Plants” program is sponsored by the Friends of the Riverbank Library. The library is at 3442 Santa Fe St. in Riverbank. Riverbank offers T’ai Chi classes on Monday nights at the Teen Center and Wednesday nights at the Community Center, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., for $5 per person each night. Stop by either evening and check out this fun, relaxing way to get fit.

Join in each week with the local REO Speechtrain Toastmasters Club for regular meetings every Wednesday morning, 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., at Perko’s Cafe, Patterson and Oakdale roads, Riverbank. This is a fun way to learn the self-confidence and skills needed for public speaking. All are invited to come and check out the group. The next meeting will be Wednesday, May 31. Modesto Junior College Department of Art presents “A Mother’s Tears” art show featuring the paintings of Susan Levy and dedicated to the memory of her daughter Chandra Levy. The show runs through Thursday, June 1 in the MJC Art Gallery on the East Campus, 435 College Ave., Modesto. The gallery is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday and admission is free.

In celebration of Woodward Reservoir’s 100th season, Stanislaus County Parks and Recreation is bringing an Ultimate Boat & Sport Expo to the main boat ramp of the reservoir on Saturday, June 3 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The public is invited to come to the event at Woodward Reservoir on 26-Mile Road just north of Oakdale, for a day spent outdoors, perusing impressive boats and sporting equipment, enjoying food and beverages, and spending quality time with friends and family. Challenger Sports is offering a Soccer Camp at the Riverbank Sports Complex, 2119 Morrill Road in Riverbank June 5 through 9. There are three different options for camp: First Kick is for ages 3 to 5 and is from 8 a.m. to 8:55 a.m. for $68; Half Day Camp for ages 5 to 14 is from 9 a.m. to noon for $141; and Golden Goal for ages 5 to 14, 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., $48 and must be in the half day camp as well.
