It is with heartfelt sadness that the Titus Family announces the death of their patriarch, Danny LeRoy Titus on July 31, 2025 at the age of 80.

Danny Titus was born on December 20, 1944 in Oakland, California. He spent his early years in the East Bay and graduated from James Logan High School located in Union City in 1961. After graduation Danny spent an adventurous year visiting many distant ports of the world as a Seaman in the Norwegian Merchant Marines. Soon after he turned 18, Danny began a four-year stint in the California Army National Guard while launching his career in the steel industry. He worked for various companies until making his final career move, joining his father and brothers in the family business of Steelgard, Inc. The relocation of the Steelgard production facility to Lathrop led Danny and his family to relocate to Knights Ferry and then eventually to Oakdale where he resided until his passing.

In the summer of 1963, Danny met Suzette Lajeunesse in Kings Beach and they married the following summer on August 9, 1964. They would share their love and commitment for nearly 61 years. They welcomed sons John Wayne in 1968 and Jeffrey Alan in 1971.

After his retirement, Danny became involved in the community becoming one of the founders of Oak Valley Community Bank in 1990 and remained a Director until June of 2025. He was an active member of the Oak Valley Hospital Foundation, Oakdale Rotary Club, and Oakdale Quarterback Club.

Danny was preceded in death by his father, DeWayne F. Titus; mother, Florence Danley and stepfather, Doyle Danley; mother-in-law, Dorothy Lajuenesse; and nephew, Dewayne “Frank” Titus III. He is survived by his devoted wife, Suzette Titus; sons, John (Melissa) and Jeff (Karen); grandchildren, Haleigh Fincher (Bailey), Holden Titus, James Titus, and Eli Titus; and one great-grandchild, Oakley Fincher. He is also survived by his brothers, DeWayne “Babe” Titus II (Claudia), Bill Titus (Kay), and Bernon Danley (Donna), along with many nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service on Monday, August 11th at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oakdale with a reception immediately following at The Family Life Center.
