Kathleen “Kathy” McIntyre was born on April 8, 1941 to Loren Edward and Cynthia Gail Walker. She was born in Grinnell, Iowa where she lived until 1955 when she moved to California. There, Kathy met and later married the love of her life, Charles “Kenny” McIntyre. They lived a wonderful 33 years together and had three children: Charles, Colleen, and Scott. Kathy and Kenny then moved to the Oakdale area in 1970 where they raised their children and watched their family grow.
Kathy was a woman of faith; she attended the Living Hope Christian Fellowship Church in Oakdale, CA. Kathy lived her life as a free spirit and she found her adventure in people. Above all else, Kathy cherished the good in all whom she met – from her closest friends and family to any kind stranger she happened upon. She will be remembered as a woman who always had a story to tell, an ear to listen, and a heart to understand.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Cynthia Walker, her sister, Donna Lynch (John) and her husband, Charles McIntyre. She is survived by her children, Charles McIntyre (Tammy), Colleen Cummins (Dan) and Scott McIntyre (Linda) as well as seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at Oakdale Memorial Chapel on May 6 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. A gravesite memorial service will be held the following day at Oaklawn Memorial Park on May 7 at 10 a.m.
Our special appreciation goes out to the Oakdale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center nurses and staff for their outstanding service. Because of the excellent care and support they showed Kathy in her final years, the family is asking that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the ONRC.
