Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services (WCYFS), the primary provider of free, confidential shelter and services for homeless and runaway youth and victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in San Joaquin County, is postponing its 40th Annual Luncheon due to the rising concerns around the coronavirus and recommendations from government agencies.

WCYFS cares deeply about the health of its community and supporters.

“As an agency that focuses on crisis intervention, we are highly accustomed to pivoting our efforts to ensure the safety of individuals throughout our community. Our team is working diligently to inform both supporters and the community and to coordinate next steps and event planning details. As soon as we have new information and a new date, we will be sharing it,” stated Krista Fiser, WCYFS’ CEO.

The Annual Luncheon serves as WCYFS’ primary fundraising event, which raises funds to supports comprehensive programming for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and youth homelessness. In 2012, Women’s Center of San Joaquin County (est. 1976) merged with Family & Youth Services (est. 1969) to create today’s Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services (WCYFS). They exist to build a stronger community by fostering the strengths in individuals and by acting as a catalyst to end violence and youth homelessness. With multiple locations throughout San Joaquin County, including four homeless youth and domestic violence shelters, Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services serves nearly 20,000 individuals annually. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, WCYFS relies on donations from the local community to supplement programmatic contracts and grants in order to continue providing the highest quality of services to those in need.
