The Riverbank High varsity basketball program just doesn’t quit.

With 60 of the top teams in California gathered at the 2013 Sheldon-Trail Summer Jam on June 21 to 23, Riverbank stunned elite opposition in the ‘F Pool’ to land a 3-1 showing.

Since Riverbank 3-1 Edison (Fresno) and outscored opponents 226-193, the Bruins earned the highest seed from Pool F into the illustrious Platinum bracket.

Even there, gathered with the 12 best teams of the tournament, Riverbank was special.

The 10th seeded Bruins upset No. 7 seed Central of Fresno 67-65 to reach the tournament quarterfinals, where No. 2 seed Lincoln (of Lincoln) stole a 55-42 victory to end the Riverbank rise.

The Bruins ended tourney play with a sharp 4-2 record vs. opposition.
