Big Trees Walk

Join the Delta Tule Trekkers, a local chapter of the American Volkssport Association, in a special event at Calaveras Big Trees State Park on Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2. Walkers of all ages are welcome to participate in the non-competitive 5K and 10K walks through the beautiful forest trails through the Sequoia groves. The shorter route is suitable for wheelchairs and strollers. Starting period is from 8 a.m. to noon with a barbeque planned for both days. Youth Football Camp

The Riverbank High School football coaching staff will host two days of vital gridiron instruction on Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1 at the RHS football field. The camp, running from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on May 31 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 1, costs just $25 for both days, with all proceeds going to RHS football. The camp includes instruction for every level of play and position, with a combine to test players like the pre-NFL draft combine. The camp is available for ages 8 to 14.

Fundraising Banquet Slated

The Oakdale Friends of NRA (National Rifle Association) will be holding a fundraising banquet and auction on Saturday, June 29, at 5 p.m., at the F.E.S. Hall in Oakdale. Dinner tickets will be $60 each, and will not be sold at the door. Special dinner packages and sponsorships are available. Membership not required to attend the event.
