Erica Orellana and Candido Cruz Jr. have announced their plans to wed.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Luis and Dora Orellana and the sister of Shawna Zamora. She is currently attending Modesto Junior College and lives in Riverbank.

The prospective groom is the son of Candido and Teresa Cruz. He is employed with the United States Marine Corps and is living in Twentynine Palms.

The couple became engaged on March 3, 2013 at Hudson’s Photography in Oakdale. They were having professional pictures taken and, during the photo shoot, the future bridegroom got down on one knee and popped the question. They then enjoyed a celebratory dinner at Javi’s in Oakdale with family and friends.

They plan to get married in September of this year on the beach in Carmel.
