Doctors Medical Center Seminar
national stroke awareness

A Stroke Prevention and Treatment program will be offered on Thursday, May 30 starting at 11:30 a.m. at Doctors Medical Center McHenry Conference Center, 1445 McHenry Ave., Modesto.

May is National Stroke Awareness Month. Many are familiar with strokes and the devastating effects they can have on victims. Strokes are the fifth leading cause of death in the United States and a leading cause of disability. Doctors Medical Center is hosting a free seminar for the community on May 30, which will focus on stroke prevention and treatment. During the lunch and learn event, attendees will hear from neurointerventional radiologists and cardiologists about how to recognize the signs and symptoms of stroke. They will also learn how cardiac issues such as AFib may increase stroke risk and about advancements in stroke treatments.

There will also be nurses on hand to help assess personal stroke risk. To register, call 833-204-7720.
