Visit Stockton Announces Annual Asparagus Dine Out

The Seventh Annual Great Stockton Asparagus Dine Out will be held April 1 through April 15 at participating restaurants throughout Stockton. Chefs at participating restaurants throughout Stockton will be creatively preparing and serving the area’s favorite spear in a variety of appetizers, entrees, drinks, and desserts. More than 30 restaurants are expected to participate.

Visit Stockton created the Great Stockton Asparagus Dine Out to showcase locally grown asparagus and its use in local cuisine. The trend of restaurants highlighting specific dishes using locally grown products is growing nationwide. Wes Rhea, CEO of Visit Stockton noted, “This week provides consumers with additional dining options, as well as reminds all about the rich bounty of asparagus in San Joaquin County.”

Some featured dishes this year: asparagus quiches, garlic shrimp with asparagus fettuccine, asparagus wrapped in filo dough, deep fried asparagus, asparagus mozzarella omelet sandwich, asparagus and cheese bagel, beef asparagus wraps, asparagus blossom, grilled asparagus tzatziki gyro, asparagus bisque, asparagus risotto (all menu items are subject to change).
