Patricia “Pat” Day, 98, of Oakdale and a longtime resident of Columbia, California, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026.
Born October 8, 1927, in Oakland to Virgil “Chick” and Isabel Wright, Pat was raised in Sonora and graduated from Sonora High School in 1945. She later moved to San Jose, where she met and married Ted Day in 1947. Together they raised six children.
Pat is survived by her children: Christine Huff, Diana Edwards, Nancy Gardner, Clinton Day, and Robert Day; her brother, Donnie Wright; and seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and many nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, and her son, Nicholas.
An active and spirited woman, Pat enjoyed bridge, line dancing, and gardening. Known as a “spitfire,” she was small in stature but strong in spirit, her fierce devotion to her family was unmatched.
A celebration of life will be held in May at Oakdale Golf & Country Club.
