Drama Queen Showing At Galaxy Theatre

The Drama Queen is a one woman show, but oh, what a woman! Leslie Scatchard, a former Riverbank school teacher, returns home after wowing crowds in the East Bay area for her performance as the Drama Queen.

Scatchard has been involved in theater one way or another for most of her life. She spent 20 years acting on stage before trying her hand at directing. Combining her elementary school teaching experience with directing, she started Greely Kids’ Theatre in the Sierra Foothills, where she grew a program for children that was well known in the area. She continued to do children’s theater in Petaluma, where she moved in 2005, and again received regional acclaim for the Petaluma Kid’s Theatre.

She has been active in West Side Stories, a story slam event in Petaluma based on the model of the Moth in New York City. She can be seen telling her stories there most months, and has been selected winner five times.

The Drama Queen showcases Scatchard’s storytelling abilities and promises to be an evening of fun and mirth.

Galaxy Theatre, 2525 Patterson Road, Riverbank will host the event at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 4.

Tickets are $10 for this one night performance and can be purchased through BrownPaperTickets.com. For more information, call 209-648-3496.

Proceeds will benefit non-profit children’s theater groups.
