DUI Arrests Made, Crashes Investigated In Riverbank

Deputies with the Riverbank Police Services responded to multiple calls this past week and continue to patrol the streets of the community. Here are details on some of the recent calls they handled.

Deputies observed a vehicle driving without headlights near Oakdale and Claribel Roads just after midnight on Sunday, March 21. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, a 19-year-old female, was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was arrested.

Around noon on Sunday, deputies received a call of the sound of shots and a suspicious person in the alley in the 3400 block of Sierra Street. Deputies located a 29-year-old man in the alley. He was found to have ammunition and spent shell casings near his person. He was arrested for negligent discharge of a firearm and possession of illegal drugs.

During the morning on Saturday, March 20, deputies observed a vehicle driving recklessly and “drifting” in the 2600 block of Santa Fe Street. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, a 21-year-old man, was cited for reckless driving and driving without a license.

Late in the evening on Saturday, deputies investigated a collision near Eagle Ridge and Colony Manor Drive. A vehicle hit a parked car and fled the scene. Deputies located the responsible, a 26-year-old woman, and arrested her for DUI and hit and run.

Deputies responded to a possible overdose near Jackson Avenue and Turpin Avenue on Friday, March 19 in the evening. They located a 29-year-old man, who had felony warrants for his arrest. The man was treated for the overdose and was booked into the jail after he received medical treatment.

During the evening on Thursday, March 18, deputies responded to a minor injury collision near Patterson and Oakdale Roads. One driver was cited for driving without a license.

Late in the evening on Thursday, deputies investigated a collision in the 6800 block of Fourth Street where a vehicle hit a parked car. The driver, a 37-year-old man, was arrested for DUI.

Just after midnight on Wednesday, March 17, deputies contacted a 29-year-old man in the 3700 block of Atchison Street. He had three warrants for his arrest and was found to have illegal drugs in his possession; he was arrested and booked into jail.

The Community Resource Deputy followed up on a local social media post of a catalytic converter theft on Wednesday morning. The Community Resource Deputy located the victim and found that law enforcement was never notified, and a report was not made. After completing a report, the Community Resource Deputy was able to track down the responsible and arrested a 30-year-old from Modesto in connection with the case.
