The local Pizza Plus was burglarized early Sunday morning, Sept. 5, according to officials with the Riverbank Police Services. The front door was shattered and the responsible took an undisclosed amount of money from the business. The suspect appears to be a heavyset white or Hispanic male adult and possibly left the scene on a motorcycle. Also on the morning of Sunday, Sept. 5, deputies were dispatched to an injury collision at the intersection of Patterson Road and Eighth Street with two vehicles involved that were stopped on the railroad tracks. A female passenger from a silver Honda van was transported to the hospital with a complaint of pain and the driver of a silver Toyota was also transported to the hospital with a complaint of pain. The vehicles were removed from the railroad tracks and video along with witness statements were obtained.

Deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on a motorcycle with no license plate during the early morning hours on Sunday. The driver of the motorcycle, identified as 40-year-old Ryan Gains, started to drive in and out of traffic and then fell off his motorcycle as he made a sharp turn. Gains was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries and was booked into the public safety center on suspicion of possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a switch blade knife, reckless driving and committing a felony while out on bail.

During the early morning hours on Saturday, Sept. 4 deputies were dispatched to a collision at the intersection of Claus Road and Townsend Avenue. One of the involved motorists, a 35-year-old man, had an outstanding warrant and was issued a citation to appear after being transported to the hospital for treatment.

On the morning of Friday, Sept. 3, deputies were dispatched to the report of a vehicle collision involving a Nissan Altima and a motorcyclist at Roselle Avenue and Patterson Road. Deputies arrived on scene and located the victim on the motorcycle with moderate injuries. The driver of the Nissan had fled the scene and has not been identified at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
