A ‘sideshow’ exhibition was caught on camera on the opening day of school last week. The illegal activity was made worse because it occurred just after lunch hour at the intersection of Eighth Street and California Avenue, the site of a Riverbank elementary school. Though students were not on campus, there was a group of teachers and administrators in front of the campus conducting a ‘drive-thru’ registration for Kindergarten students. And at least one expressed concern that the spinout came dangerously close to her vehicle, parked across from the campus. Police officials said with no license plate visible, and the vehicle having fled the scene by the time they arrived, they have few leads to go on in the case.
