Deputies Encounter Underage Drinking And Driving

Riverbank Police Services had several calls for service last week including DUI and vehicle theft.

During the early morning hours on Monday, July 26, deputies responded to a solo vehicle collision involving a vehicle that crashed into a fence and a parked car near Roselle Avenue and Story Brook Lane. A teenaged driver was cited for DUI and released to his parents.

On Saturday, July 24 in the early morning hours, deputies responded to a non-injury vehicle collision near Oakdale and Claribel roads. One of the drivers, a 19-year-old, was found to be under the influence of alcohol; he was arrested for DUI.

Around 11 p.m. on Saturday, deputies responded to a vehicle collision where a pedestrian was struck. Authorities said it appears a teenaged male was intoxicated and lying in the road within the 3800 block of Patterson Road. An oncoming vehicle did not see the subject in the road and drove over the pedestrian at slow speed. The juvenile is in stable condition at a local area hospital.

Around midnight on Wednesday, deputies responded to the 3700 block of Kansas Avenue and arrested a 21-year-old in connection with a disturbance.

Deputies responded to a reported vehicle theft near River Cove and Burneyville on Monday, July 19 in the evening. There is suspect information and the investigation is ongoing.
