Voters casting ballots for the Tuesday, Nov. 8 general election have plenty of ways to get their vote counted.

Ballots can be mailed in, postmarked by Nov. 8, or you can go to a number of drop-off locations.

In Oakdale, there is a drop box at Save Mart and one at the Oakdale Library while voting centers will be set up at the Bianchi Community Center and the Stanislaus Culinary Institute on Wakefield Drive. The culinary site is also available for curbside drop off and an outdoor drop box is also available at Burchell Nursery, 12000 Highway 120 in Oakdale.

Riverbank has a drop box at O’Brien’s Market and vote centers will be set up at the Riverbank Teen Center and St. Frances of Rome.

Locally contested races in Oakdale include three candidates for two positions on the Oakdale City Council: incumbent Christopher Smith, Benjamin Amaral and Kayleigh Gilbert are each seeking a four-year term; Mayor Cher Bairos is unopposed.

Riverbank has two council seats open; incumbent Luis Uribe is unopposed in District 1, Leanne Jones-Cruz is unopposed in Division 3.

For the Oakdale Joint Unified School District, candidates Michele Manuel and Clayton R. Schemper are both seeking the Area 1 seat; incumbent Diane Gilbert faces challengers Joshua Randol and Shirrelle O. Moore-Mmasi in Area 4; Lauren Dutch and Bill Duvall Jr. are seeking the available board seat in Area 5.

Riverbank has two candidates for one available school board position, in Area 2, with DeLayne Coker and Katie Wedge each seeking the seat.

Also on the ballot, Knights Ferry School District offers Measure C, which seeks to reduce the number of board members from five to three.

The ballot also includes a number of statewide races and propositions.
