Final Countdown On To Election Day

Voters go to the polls in Riverbank and around the country next Tuesday, Nov. 6 for the Presidential election, state and local races as well.

In the city, voters will choose between incumbent Virginia Madueno and challenger Richard O'Brien, a current councilman and business owner, for the office of mayor.

Seven candidates are on the ballot for a council seat, with two spots available on the dais. Incumbent Jeanine D. Tucker is running for re-election and also in the running on the ballot are Darlene Barber-Martinez, a small business owner; Cal Campbell, a retired teacher; Leanne Jones Cruz, a high school teacher; Anthony D. McKinney, a Realtor; Jessica Molina, an after school assistant; and Kathy Salvatore, a communications consultant.

Locally, voters will also cast ballots in the U.S. Senate race pitting incumbent Democrat Diane Feinstein against republican challenger Elizabeth Emken.

In the District 10 Congressional race, Republican incumbent Jeff Denham is challenged by Democrat Jose Hernandez and Republican Bill Berryhill is going against incumbent Democrat Cathleen Galgiani in the District 5 state Senate race.

State Assembly battles in Stanislaus County are in District 12, Republican incumbent Kristin Olsen against Democrat Christopher Mateo and in District 21, Democrat Adam Gray vs. Republican Jack Mobley.

Polls open at 7 a.m. and remain open until 8 p.m. on Nov. 6.
