Forecasters Predict High Winds In Region

A strong Delta breeze will bring windy conditions to the Delta and Northern San Joaquin Valley this afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a high wind warning for the Carquinez Strait and Delta-Northern San Joaquin Valley area including the cities of Fairfield/Suisun, Stockton and Modesto.

Southwest winds from 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected.

The wind advisory is in effect from noon to 10 p.m. on Monday, June 7.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Driving will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Motorists are advised to use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Homeowners should also secure outdoor objects.
