Interim Superintendent - School Board Selects Camp

Beginning the search for a new superintendent of schools, Riverbank Unified School District trustees have appointed Dr. Daryl Camp as interim superintendent to succeed current superintendent Dr. Ken Geisick when he leaves on April 20.

Camp joined the district as assistant superintendent and principal of Adelante Continuation High School in September.

Geisick recently resigned to take a job with Think Together, an educational research organization based in the Southern California city of Santa Ana. He has served here since 2003, first as principal of Riverbank High School and then district superintendent.

Newly chosen board president Elizabeth Meza said the board has not yet settled on its course of action for choosing a new superintendent but intends to follow a cohesive procedure, ensure an orderly transition and protect the interests of the students, staff and community.

"The board is committed to maintaining a coherent system of support as we transition. Our focus is to ensure that classroom instruction is and remains our priority," she said.

Trustees expect to name a new superintendent by the start of the next school year this August.
