June Begins With Multiple Service Calls For Deputies

The beginning of June has been busy for Riverbank Police Services patrolling the streets in the City of Action. Listed are a few calls for service that deputies handled this past week. 

On Sunday, June 6 at approximately 6:30 p.m. deputies were dispatched to assist medics at the 108 Lounge. Upon arrival they found a woman who was intoxicated and unable to care for herself. Ambulance personnel were initially trying to load the woman into the ambulance and due to her intoxication she became uncooperative and refused. Deputies determined the woman was too intoxicated to care for herself and placed her in protective custody for drunk in public and later released when sober.

In the late evening on Sunday, June 6 deputies were dispatched to Glow Road and Sire Court on a hit and run accident. Upon arrival witnesses stated they saw a truck crash into a parked vehicle. The truck then fled the area without trying to contact anyone. After a thorough investigation, deputies located the truck in the 3500 block of Sierra Street. The driver was located and subsequently cited for misdemeanor hit and run.

On the morning of Friday, June 4 deputies were dispatched to High Street and Fourth Street on a subject breaking a window at a local residence. Deputies contacted Anthony Silva, who they said is a known squatter in the 3400 block of High Street. Silva is on searchable probation and was searched during the investigation. Deputies located a usable amount of methamphetamine concealed on his person. He was found not to have broken any windows but was cited for the drug possession and released.

Deputies were dispatched to the 3800 block of Sierra Street on a hit and run accident on Friday evening. Upon arrival deputies contacted both parties. One of the involved parties was trying to leave and refused to exchange information. Deputies facilitated the exchange and investigated the incident.

On Thursday at approximately 11p.m., deputies located a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was stopped in the 6700 black of Howard Avenue. Several of the subjects were on parole and or probation. During a search of the vehicle a loaded firearm was located. A Probation search incident to the arrest at one of the parolees addresses also yielded body armor. Jobe Tyler was arrested for possession of the firearm and possession of cocaine.

Deputies were dispatched to the Ulta Beauty Store for a shoplifting that had occurred during the early evening on Wednesday, June 2. After an extensive investigation, deputies located the three juvenile suspects who were cited and released to their individual parents. The stolen product was recovered and returned to the business.

On Tuesday, June 1 Home Depot security observed a subject leave the store with merchandise without paying for it. When he knew he was caught, he dropped the merchandise and left the area. Deputies located the subject and detained him. He was subsequently cited for shoplifting.

Deputies were dispatched to a three-vehicle hit and run accident in the 3100 block of Patterson Road on Tuesday at approximately 6:30 p.m. The occupants involved had minor injuries. The suspect vehicle was determined to be located at an address on Don Ramon Avenue. The investigation is still ongoing.
