Building and Construction Instructor Cory Casteel and Riverbank High School student Jesus Tovar teamed up recently at the Northern California Design Build competition held at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento. Although they did not earn awards, Tovar was recognized by the Carpenters Union and was highlighted during the sponsor’s luncheon. Casteel noted that Tovar received a lot of attention from industry professionals and multiple job offers. Casteel said, “If building/construction were a sport, Jesus would be this year’s star quarterback.”
