Market Night Festivities Bring Crowds Downtown

Among food booths at the Farmers Market, some are operated by non-profit community organizations. Here, volunteers for Central Valley Community Resources cook up and serve some delicious tacos. Other vendors sell burritos, hot dogs, cold beverages, and more. Ric McGinnis/The News

The Riverbank Farmers Market is enjoying a very successful summer run. Hosted each Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., organizers are pleased with the great response from the community and vendors alike.

Staged downtown, vendor booths with food, produce, crafts and more are set up on Santa Fe Street, between Third and Fourth streets, as well as in the Plaza del Rio Park. Entertainment is also part of the weekly market and vendors continue to bring in new varieties of locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables as they come into season.

Bell
Each week, the organizers of the Riverbank Farmers Market have been able to provide music for shoppers at their downtown event, either live, as in this case, or by a DJ. At the June 8 market night, singer/guitarist Colby Bell performed on Santa Fe Street, in front of Get Toasted, a brunch and mimosa bar.
