Music month continues with the Summer Concert Series in Jacob Myers Park on Saturdays.

This past weekend, a slightly larger audience was on hand, listening to the pop music sounds of Wise Guy’z, a duo from Stockton which features a keyboardist who sings and a woodwind player who also sings. He alternated playing flute, alto saxophone and tenor sax.

The keyboard player also controlled the playback music that accompanied their performance. As one approached the area, the music sounded like a full band was playing.

Plenty of evening shade and a pleasant breeze cooled off the warm day for those who brought their lawn chairs and picnic supplies. A small group of vendors round out what is offered.

This week marks the halfway point, with two weeks down and two to come.

On Saturday, May 21, another duo is slated to perform, Horatio and Jake, with another slate of pop songs, and the series will conclude on May 28, Memorial Day weekend, with what they refer to as ‘no-nonsense rock and roll’ from a band called Triple D.
