The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27 and 28 in Oakdale; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Oct. 12 through Monday, Oct. 18. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, OCT. 18

4:15 p.m. – Modesto Engine 28, Engine/Water Tender 27, Stanislaus Quint 22 and Battalion Chief 5 responded to a potential structure fire in the 9500 block of Wamble Road. Crews arrived to find sign of fire and began to investigate. Engine 28 confirmed negative fire (concrete dust) on the interior of the building.

 

SUNDAY, OCT. 17

9 a.m. – Battalion Chief 5 and Engine 27 led Modesto, Stanislaus Consolidated and Turlock Fire crews through various hose evolutions at Station 17. Various tactics and strategies were discussed and reviewed.

 

FRIDAY, OCT. 15

8:47 a.m. – Modesto Engine 28, Engine 29, Cal Fire Engine 4482 and Battalion Chief 5 responded to a motor vehicle accident on State Highway 4 near Milton Road. Engine 28 arrived to find three vehicles involved and negative injuries. CHP investigating.

 

THURSDAY, OCT. 14

New Engine 29 was presented to the Oakdale Fire Protection District Board. Engine 29 is anticipated to be in service by early December.

10:30 a.m. – Modesto Fire Department and Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District responded to Claus Road and Terminal Avenue for a vehicle accident that involved an overturned vehicle. Two occupants were evaluated on scene and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

 

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 13

12:25 p.m. – Crews responded to a vehicle accident near the 5800 block of Langworth Road, south of Patterson Road. The accident involved one vehicle that struck a power pole. The occupant was evaluated on scene, but denied any assistance. PG&E crews responded to the scene to secure the power and repair the pole. Crews were on scene for over 90 minutes until the pole could be secured.

Companies rotated through training on an acquired residential structure in Oakdale.
