The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27 and 28 in Oakdale; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.
Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, March 30 through Monday, April 5. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.
MONDAY, APRIL 5
Weekly apparatus and equipment checks were completed.
The new firefighter academy conducted the first day of finals testing for the recruits.
THURSDAY, APRIL 1
Crews from stations 28 and 29 trained on boat operations today on the Stanislaus River near Knights Ferry
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 31
Fire academy instructors and students continued live fire training today at Station 17.
TUESDAY, MARCH 30
9:25 a.m. – Ceres Engine 16 responded to reports of vegetation fire in the 1200 block of River Road at Mancini Park. The call was quickly upgraded to a full alarm and then a second alarm as wind had carried the fire into the tree line that bordered the park and was threatening houses on Symphony Way. Crews from Ceres, Modesto, Stanislaus Consolidated, Turlock City and the FIU responded to the scene or provided coverage during the incident.
