Ava Jean Loeffler passed away on Tuesday July 27, 2021 in Oakdale CA.
Ava was born in Modesto CA and grew up in nearby Oakdale. She was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd “Monty” and Marge Montgomery and her oldest son Christian Loeffler. She is survived by her son Peter Loeffler (Laurie); cousins Beverly Haidlen, Jerry Wulff, Randy Wulff, Don Montgomery; and grandson Dustin Loeffler.
Ava attended grammar and high school in Oakdale and graduated from San Jose State. She was married to Charles Forster Loeffler an engineer for Hills Brothers Coffee in San Francisco. They lived and raised their boys Chris and Peter in San Anselmo, CA. When the boys were older, Ava returned to the workforce at Great Western Insurance in San Francisco. Upon retirement, Ava enjoyed travel and cruising to Alaska, Egypt, Greece, Turkey and Canada and took annual trips with friends to Puerto Vallarta.
Ava returned to live in Oakdale in 2002. She enjoyed time with her family and friends and made many new friends. She volunteered at the Oak Valley Hospital Gift Shop for several years. A gourmet cook and a voracious reader she also loved her crossword puzzles. Her day began with a cup of coffee and the SF Chronicle daily puzzle which she completed using a pen.
Ava was a strong woman of great character and she will be missed by her family and friends.
