Earl A. Rasmussen, 80, of Modesto died Wednesday, Nov. 17 at Vintage Faire Rehabilitation Center.

A native of South Dakota, he lived in Modesto for 25 years. He was a general contractor for 45 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a lifetime member of the VFW.

He is survived by his wife, Lavernia C. Rasmussen of Modesto; children, Linda Salles of Riverbank, Sandy Garrett of South Lake Tahoe, Gary Hall of Georgia, David Rasmussen, Betty Grasso and John Asche, all of Nevada; sisters, Laura Daniels of Santa Rosa, Shirley Rife of Nebraska and Leona Sheets of South Dakota; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services were held on Saturday, Nov. 20 at Riverbank Memorial Chapel.
