It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our mother Eva Marie Berndt Naatus. She was 103 years old. Eva was born December 30, 1918 to W.R. Muirhead and Ollie Muirhead on a farm close to Dresden, Kansas. She married Theodore Harold Berdt in August of 1935 and they were married for 50 years and seven months before his passing in March of 1986. They had 12 children together, Wilma Kaeding, Darlene Martin, Lawrence Berndt, Don Berndt, Dixie Daniel, Teresa Felt, Joyce Berndt, Theodore R. Berndt, Terry Berndt, Tialatha Willams, William F. Berndt, and Mary French.

Throughout their marriage they moved often, but settled in Modesto, CA in 1965. In 1999, Eva moved to Oakdale, CA to a Senior Citizens complex and made many friends and lived a wonderful life. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and was part of a ukulele band. She also loved sports and would watch the Sacramento Kings and San Francisco Giants. She also enjoyed dancing and was still dancing at the age of 103.

She had 36 grandchildren and many great, great, great grandchildren. Eva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Theodore H. Berndt and daughter Wilma Kaeding.

A service was held on November 14, 2022 at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, CA.
