He was born in Ripon and grew up in Oakdale. He was a resident of Modesto for 42 years.

He was retired from Norris Industries in Riverbank after dedicating 24 years of service.

Mr. Manrique enjoyed yard work, gambling, watching sports, and his family and grandchildren.

He will be remembered for his sense of humor and making people laugh. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon Manrique of Modesto; sons, Andre Manrique of Riverbank, Jeff Manrique of Ceres; daughter, Annette Darden of Lathrop; daughter-in-laws, Kathy and Nikki Manrique; son-in-law, John Darden; brothers, Vincent, Primo, Julius, Tony, and Richard Manrique; sister, Alice Garcia; grandchildren, Michael, Joey, Dominic, Hunter, and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Staci and Emily.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary and Serapio Manrique, brothers Arturo, Lawrence, Raymond, and Edward Manrique and sisters Delores Pongan, Linda Valencia, and Jenney and Madeline Manrique.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, 830 West F St. Funeral service will be held at Oakdale Memorial Chapel at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22. A potluck luncheon will directly follow the graveside service.
