Reverend Martin T. Tlascala, 79, died Sunday, July 6 at Memorial Medical Center, Modesto.

He was born in Chandler, AZ. He lived in Riverbank for 45 years.

Rev. Tlascala powerfully preached the true scripture throughout the Central Valley. He preached and spread the word of God to everyone. He was a member of la Asamblea Apostolica de la fe en Cristo Jesus, Inc.

He was a happy man, knowing he served his God for more than 60 years.

He is survived by his children, Vincent (C.J.) of Modesto, Marty (Jan), Larry, Michael (Karla), Steven (Paula), Cathy, all of Riverbank, Darlene (Artie) of Merced; daughter-in-law, Lydia Tlascala of Riverbank; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Mary Flores Tlascala; brothers, Manuel, Willie, and Joe Barajas; sisters, Sally, Vivian Barajas, Rachel, Carmen, Elizabeth, and Eva Tlascala; parents, Martin T. and Carmen Talavera Tlascala.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 10 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 11 at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson.
