Ruth Marlena Williamson, born September 16, 1940 in Corinne, Oklahoma to Jona Lee and Mary L.B. Wright passed peacefully on June 21, 2022. Ruth was the beloved wife of William Roger “Rod” Williamson. She was dedicated to her Lord and was a past member of Riverbank and Oakdale First Missionary Baptist Church. At a young age she moved west with her family and finally settled in the Riverbank/Oakdale area. She attended Cardozo Elementary School and Oakdale High School. Ruth married Walter Thomas “Tom” Cobb and had four children; two boys and two girls. They had lived in Southern California and returned to Oakdale in 1976. They separated in 1983. Ruth began a career at Riverbank Army Ammunitions Plant for NI Industries. While working for NI Industries, she met a young supervisor; it was love at first sight. Rod and Ruth were married September 23, 1989, in Modesto, California where they lived until moving to Oakdale in 2003. Ruth loved to be around her family and hosted many dinners and barbecues over the years. She was an amazing cook and she loved to share that with family and friends. She enjoyed many motorhome trips over the years, but home was where her heart always was. Ruth also enjoyed making flower arrangements, sewing, reading her bible, pruning her roses and she was an extreme fan of yard sales.
