Tommy Louis Poulson, 76, of Riverbank, died peacefully Saturday, Feb. 1 at Acacia Park Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was born in Joplin, Mo., the oldest of eight children to parents Loren and Roszettie Poulson.

He held several positions around the county and finally retired from Oakdale Recycling Center.

Mr. Poulson loved fishing, camping, music, and sports. He could always be found listening to old time rock n’ roll or country music, only when he wasn’t busy rooting on the Kansas City Chiefs or the San Francisco Giants.

His gentle spirit, smile, and kind words will be greatly missed by his large family and circle of friends. His family thanks Community Hospice and the staff members at Acacia Park for their care and friendship.

He is survived by his children, Carl Poulson, Greg Poulson, Anne Beers, Laura Sisseck; stepchildren, Art Raney, Danny Raney, Shelly Wilyard, Kathy Wheeler; sisters, Rachel Poulson, Ilene Hair, Judy Boyd, Roszettie Boswell, Muchie Miller; brother, Loren Poulson; brother-in-law, Dan Smith; sister-in-law and caregiver, Cathy Turman; 20 grandchildren; and two-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Poulson; parents, Loren and Roszettie Poulson; and sister, Lorene Blaco.

A celebration of life will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 at Round Table Pizza in the Crossroads Shopping Center, Riverbank.
